Dust Separation (Cyclones)

LIN SCAN dust separation system for gas transmission pipelines.

LIN SCAN has developed an effective and economic system to separate dust particles (down to 5 microns) from gas without interruption of regular operations and even when a pig is in the line.

The system is based on separating dust from gas by spinning the gas/dust mixture in cyclone type separators.

They are specifically crafted to cope with thick dust clouds moving in front of a cleaning pig during pigging operations.

The main advantage of cyclone type dust separation over the usage of filters is that cyclones do not clog up and can continue to separate dust from gas even under the highest dust concentration conditions. The holding capacity of the hoppers underneath the cyclones is sufficient to hold the maximum amount of dust that pigs can bring in.

Our dust separation system consists of primary and secondary cyclone cascades making sure that the larger particles are separated in the primary cyclones while the finer particles are settle down in the second cascade. Thus we ensure we can deal with huge amounts of dust.

These systems can either be rented to for on-time effective dust separation performed simultaneously with pigging runs or purchased for permanent operation. This LIN SCAN technology has been successfully applied in many locations.

Our black dust separation system has extensive record of successful application being the effective and comfortable solution for any pipeline operator – this does not require a pipeline shutdown.
